Tips For Fellow Ghost Hunters

Here are some things to remember when heading out on an investigation...

1. NEVER go alone!

Always have at least 1 partner with you at all times. Not only does this make the experience safer, you will also have an eye witness in case you see something you aren't able to catch on film.

2. Dress casual & comfortable.

A good investigation generally lasts up to several hours, so be sure to dress comfortably. You should also wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Wear good, closed-toed shoes that you can walk in for a long time.

3. Avoid jewelry and nail polish.

Things like dangling earrings, decorative necklaces, and even nail polish can show up in still image evidence and look like something it's not.

4. Try not to focus on catching "orbs".

Orbs are, simply put, collections of energy. To be honest, orbs are not very impressive when it comes to getting solid evidence. They are usually ruled out as dust, bugs, moths, or something on the lense of the camera. Try to look for things that are more difficult to explain, like an apparition or unexplained evp.

5. Keep a checklist of all equipment.

Nothing is worse than leaving an investigation, and days later you realize that you left an expensive camera or voice recorder behind.

6. Go in good spirits.

This one is pretty important. Avoid ghost hunting when depressed, angry, or even remotely upset. It is said that this can ruin an investigation. Most importantly, DO NOT attempt to investigate while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Not only do these things hinder your senses, but many people believe they can make you more susceptable to possession.
